Junsuke Sato moved from Japan to Los Angeles in 2009 and graduated from a five-year Bachelor of Architecture professional degree program at Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc).  Sato is interested in new materials and new design processes as technologies evolve rapidly, with paying much finer attention to its history, theory, and techniques in the practice of architecture.  He has over 5 years of experience as a designer who brings the computation design and scripting into the real life.  Sato has done a variety of works at Mayes Office, MLLO, and B+U, which includes designing Photovoltaic System with using algorithm and making physical models with using the 3D printer and hand crafted materials.  In 2015, he won the FLAT FIGURES competition held by SCIARC with his partners and installed the work in the Old Bank District, Downtown Los Angeles.
